"We needed a dehumidifier for our basement. They determined the correct size and had to work out a way to fit it so it could sit near that A/C unit. They did a great job of creating a way for the vent to be installed within the distance required and while fitting it within the weight bearing studs that were in the way of a standard install.

"Over the last eleven years, Robert Akins and ACS has provided nothing but high-quality, professional, and responsive service. When one of my two HVACs went out in my new home, I called the company that installed it and they said the earliest they could come was three days. When I called ACS, they were there the next morning. I have been calling on ACS ever since. During a heat wave, after Robert explained he would have to charge overtime, ACS fixed my HVAC on a Sunday morning. Whenever ACS was at my house to fix my HVAC, after analyzing the problem, they were clear on what needed to be done, how long it would take to fix it, how much it would cost, and why. If necessary, they also provided a variety of payment options so I could choose what best met my situation. So when one of my two HVACs needed to be replaced, ACS was one of two companies I called for an estimate. While the other estimate was flowered with discounts for various reasons, the ACS estimate was clear, concise, and competetive. Robert Akins spent a lot of time explaining options and whether they were worth the expense. The unit ACS proposed has a lifetime condenser replacement warranty if the compressor ever fails. An option ACS had that the other did not was a ten year warranty on the labor for warrantied repairs. Finally, when the competitor said it would take at least a week for the replacement HVAC to come in, ACS had my new unit installed the next day on December 22, the week of Christmas! So whether you are looking to replace your current HVAC unit or just repair the one you have, I highly recommend Robert Akins and ACS. "Robert Akins and his crew pay attention to the details. I had been limping my heat pump along for almost a year. When the compressor finally died, there were 5 days before the temp. in Huntsville was projected to be 19*F. ACS got the job done in time to protect my house and family from the extreme cold. I got 3 estimates and chose ACS. Robert was the only one to send a person into my crawl space and take pictures. " I called ACS after my upstairs Cooling/Heating unit went out due to the age of the equipment. I knew the old system had problems because some rooms were much hotter in the summer and much colder in the winter than other rooms and I wanted someone who could assess the issues and fix them. ACS did just that. They came in and did an assessment to determine the proper airflow for each room and designed and implemented a new ductwork and unit system that has resolved the temperature discrepancies. Robert and his employees did a great job keeping the mess to a minimum and cleaning up during and after the job was completed. Robert, I would like to commend the service rep that came to service our unit today. Unfortunately I did not catch his name. I was very impressed with his professionalism; not only in his personnel skills, but also how he was very meticulous in completing his work. I was particularly impressed with his assurance that the unit and the area around it was clean, and how he even wound my hose back up neatly. That in particular really made an impression! Mr. Akins, I wanted to let you know how much my electric and gas bill has been reduced by your evaluation and complete overhaul of the heating and air conditioning of our home at [redacted for privacy] in Jul'14. The electric bill for 6-30-13 to 6-30-14 was $2410.51, with gas bill $975.41. For the period 6-30-14 to 6-30-15, the electric bill was $1919.07 with gas bill $543.51. Altogether, the new system resulted in total reduction of $1413.34! We are really happy with this and wanted to share this with you and let you know how much we appreciate not just the savings but also the time and effort you spent with us reviewing the problems and solutions, and the workmanship. I called Robert on a Friday morning to replace an unsafe furnace and by 3 o'clock that afternoon the new install was complete and working. What is unusual is I am from northern Michigan and had to do this long distance with Robert. My son was out of country and could not handle this. Working sight unseen with someone can be unsettling but Robert was as trustworthy as he sounded. It helped he has an excellent web site and checks out with the better business bureau. His quote was fair and he checked with me before performing additional work he felt was necessary after he had a chance to check the job site. He emailed my documentation, invoice, warranty and furnace info. He included info for future preventative maintenance if we choose to use it. All around a good experience for something that could have been a big headache.

ACS and Robert Akins are the best Heating and Cooling company by far! Totally honest, reliable and they really know their stuff! Mr. Akins advised me as to the best solution given my situation. I signed up for a maintenance agreement and bought an Ultra Violet lamp to kill the mold that had started to grow in my system. No other service company had ever even mentioned mold! ACS is the only company that will be servicing my HVAC! I HIGHLY recommend them!

Thank you ACS! We were grilling out one weekend with our house packed when, (of course) the A/C went out! I called ACS, Inc. (referred by a friend) the owner of the company answered the first time I called and sent a technician out right away! In no time the tech. fixed the leak, topped our machine off with freon, and ensured the unit was running correctly. I was impressed that the owner still runs his company, his men are quick to respond, and the prices are very competitive!
